I'm pretty sure my schedule has been overwritten by the school year! I've had a couple of cross-country meets, one of which was canceled, and the other one (today's) well, lets just say the other teams didn't show up. One of the teams had said that our course was too dangerous...if they think our team's course is dangerous, then I'm sure theirs is lined with pillows so that if you fall, you won't get hurt...
My other meet this week was on Tuesday. When we started, we went around a field.
We had only been running for about 30 seconds when someone stepped on the heel of my shoe. Now, at that point that this happened, I was praying. I always thank God for being able to race, and then I pray for extra strength to finish the race. I tend to do this at the beginning. So, I was thinking,
"Lord, I thank you for letting me be here, and for letting me have fun do cross-country, and-"
Bump.
"Wait a sec...something doesn't feel right..."
I was right. Something wasn't right. I turned around to see my shoe, two feet away, and a bunch of kids from the other team dying laughing. I was furious. I turned around, grabbed my shoe, shoved it one my foot - untied - and started running. I passed every single one of those mean kids.
When my mom heard about it, we laughed together. I wonder what God was trying to teach me...probably patience and humility. :-)
