Wii to Wii U

Hello everyone!  Today, we finally transferred our Wii data to our new Wii U.  So, all of the stuff transfered to the Wii U, there wasn't a need for the Wii anymore...so, the Wii that we've had since 2009, is finally headed out the door.  Now, to get to out Wii data, we switch our Wii U into Wii mode.  Bye Nintendo Wii!  We'll miss ya!

Today is also the only day that we have all of the Nintendo consoles since 2001.  The GameCube, Wii, and then Wii U.  But sadly, this is the only day I can say this...

I reccomend the Wii U to Nintendo newbies, or any Nintendo fan. (Like myself!)

Thanks for viewing!  God bless you!

Christmas Day

Merry Chistmas!!!   We celebrate Jesus's brith this day!

So far, this has been an amazing Christmas!  I've received a perpetual motion toy, a DIY clock, a stocking filled with goodies, and also, me and my brothers shared in getting a Wii U!  However, we plugged in the Wii U, and it turned out that it had some technical difficulties...long story short we can't play it until we get a new one.  Which might be tomorrow.  It's all right though, we had a great time playin with our other gifts!

Anyway, any idea what I'm typing this from?

So, my mom finally got an upgrade from her iPhone 4 to an iPhone 5S.  My mom and dad were talking - and desired that the iPhone 4 could go to me!!!  Woohoo!

Well,  I hope you've had a great Christmas!  Christ is born!!!!

Gingerbread House

Hey everybody!  Yesterday I got to go to a good friend of mine's house to make a gingerbread house with them.  My friend's mom made the gingerbread dough herself!  And the frosting!  She got them to stay together really well too!  My friend and I were plastering candy and frosting on our houses.  This is what mine came out like:

My Gingerbread House
I put a see-saw and a campfire...with GUMMY BEARS!  I had a great time with my friend and I hope he did too!

So, after that, I got home...what do you think I did?  I made another....not even close to as nice as this one though...and the dough wasn't homemade.  We actually used graham crackers.  You guys might be like, "Really Elijah?  Two gingerbread houses in one day?  Do you really need that much candy?"  And to that, I would say YES! ...but then again, I really should say no...

Anyway, have a great day!  BEST GINGERBREAD DAY EVER!

The Supernaturalist

Hey guys!  I just finished a book report on a book called:  The Supernaturalist

          The Supernaturalist
                                                                                                By Eoin Colfer

The Supernaturalist is a book about an orphan boy named Cosmo Hill, who has no hope of ever being adopted or fitting in.  He escapes the orphanage and meets a group in which he finally fits in, and he goes on adventures with them.  The book is written by Eoin Colfer, who is also the author of the famous series, Artemis Fowl.  This science-fiction novel makes you wonder what will happen to the characters every page you turn!
Cosmo Hill is a 14 year old orphan boy who lived in an orphanage called Clarissa Frayne.  He was found as a baby on Cosmonaut Hill, which is where he got his name.  The Supernaturalists, a group of people, include Stefan Bashkir, Mona Vasquez, and Ditto Bonn.
This book takes place in the futuristic world of Satellite City, where almost everything is automated.  Most of the city is run by the Myishi Corp.’s satellite power source.  However, in the time of the book, the satellite is losing links to the surface of the earth.  This causes mild, to catastrophic disasters.
One day, Cosmo got to go on a bus with his room-mates.  The bus crashed and Cosmo thought that this would be his chance to escape Clarissa Frayne forever.  So, that’s just what he did.  After running through the building (that the bus crashed into) up to the roof, he jumped to the rooftop of the closest building.  He was hurt, and he saw a blue transparent creature on his wound.  His pain instantly went away.  That’s when he saw the Supernaturalists blasting the creature of his wound.
In the end though, Cosmo finds himself happy.  He is a Supernaturalist.  He has friends, Mona and Ditto by his side.  The job was done.  The Supernaturalists had been hunting the blue creatures, that happened to be on every other person that was hurt - forever it seemed.  But the creatures were finally learned about, and were found to be harmless.

I absolutely love this book.  It’s filled with adventure, and absolutely makes you want to read on, and on!  I think my favorite part is when The Supernaturalists (including Cosmo) go to space to collect a special chip.  The one and only space suit doesn’t fit Stefan, Ditto, or even Mona, so Cosmo has to go out in the suit to get the chip.  If you would like to read something futuristic, and a book that keeps you wondering what will happen next, then this is the book for you!

Thanks for reading!!!  Have a good day!

My VLACS Computer Literacy Course

Today I'm going to talk about one of my VLACS (An online charter school) courses called Computer Literacy.  I have 3 other courses, (Math, Language Arts, and World Cultures) but today I'm just going to talk about this one.

In section 1 of my course, I learned about the Internet, what it does, and different browsers that can use it.  Right now, as I'm typing this post, I'm using Chrome.  My personal favorite.  However, VLACS is not able to be used in Chrome.  So, I use the one recommend, Firefox.

In section 2, I learned about a program called Writer.  It is in an office suite called Open Office.  My family has iWork, Microsoft Office, and Open Office. (Now we have Open Office because of VLACS!)  Writer is a program that you can write text in to make a document.

In section 3, I learned about formatting documents.  Formatting mean to change how something looks.  You can format text to make it a different color, size, or font.  You can also change the way the paper faces.  Portrait, or Landscape.

For the 4th section, I learned about A program called Calc.  This is in - you might have guessed - Open Office.  This is used to make spreadsheets.  Spreadsheets are used to organize data.

The 5th section was about Impress.  One of the programs in Open Office!  Impress can help you make presentations.  I made a couple, but I can't post them on this website.

And last but not least, section 6 is about Blogging.  Where do you think I am in the course?  Yep, I'm in the blogging part.  In that section it required me to write something like this on a blog that I created...which I'm currently doing...

Well, thanks for reading!  I only have one more section to go!  Section 7!  Bye!

Monday, December 2, 2013

Hey everyone!  This post is half for a part of my school, where I need to post something about something I found in an RSS Feed (I have 2 on the "Tech" page) and half because - well, it's awesome.

I just found out from the Liliputing RSS Feed, that Amazon is working on a new delivery system.  Amazon Prime Air!  This also only takes about 30 min to ship something right to your door!  It is a drone that flies your package from Amazon, to you doorstep.  This is AMAZING!  This could be working by 2015!

Bye guys!  Have a good day!  Thanks for viewing!

Thanksgiving Day

So, I said a couple days age that I would talk about Thanksgiving Day...well, here I am!

We got to go to our Babci and Pepe's house and have Thanksgiving dinner together as a family:  Me, my brothers, my parents, my grandparents, my aunt and uncle, and my cousin.  First we all played a little inside, running around playing with a ball with my 3-year-old nephew and having a blast.  After about an hour, it was time for dinner.  This consisted of turkey, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, butternut squash, sweet potatoes, and the world famous (Not really famous, but they absolutely should be!  They are always amazing!) banana fritters!

Afterwards, we went to play outside in the cold.  When I said cold just then, I really meant freezing.  We decided to play a game.  My dad would kick a football, and whichever of us got it back to him first, won.  I brought it back most of the time, as I have a 1 and-a-half year age lead on my younger brother, and a 3 year age lead on my youngest brother.  After a little while, my dad said that both of my brothers should team up.  This made the game a whole lot harder!

We came in, had a great dessert, played a couple games of air hockey, and it was already time to go.  I had a great thanksgiving this year!  I have a lot to be thankful for!  I hope you do too!  I'm logging off!  Good night!  Jesus loves you!

P.S.  I also added 3 more pictures to the art section.  Check them out!

New Drawings

Hey guys!  Go check out the new drawings in the "Art" section!  Hope you like them!

God bless you!  Bye!

First Lego League

Here's a new paper I just wrote!

First Lego League 2013

First Lego League is a League where teams get together to program Lego Mindstorms to do different missions on a board, learn about Core Values, and learn about the theme project of the year.  The official website is:  http://www.firstlegoleague.org/
The team I was on this year was one of the Goffstown’s teams, The NXT Ninjas.  (NXT is one of the generations of Mindstorms.)  We met for 4 hours every Sunday, and on the last couple of Sundays, we met for 6 hours.  For the entire last week, we met 3 hours almost every day until Saturday, which was when competition was held.  During the meetings, we would program the NXTs to do certain tasks on the game board, which looked like the picture to the right.  We also would turn in the homework that we had been assigned.
This year’s motif was “Natures Fury”.  We learned all about natural disasters.  Part of what we did for homework was writing a couple of papers about the natural disaster we chose- earthquakes.
There always has been a competition at the end of the year.  That competition happened to be last Saturday.  There were 16 teams this year  (including us).  We were judged on the robot performance, core values, technical judging, and the presentation we created and gave.
Robot performance was basically how our NXT performed on the b   oard.  We scored 165 points for that,  putting us in 9th place.  The highest score was 432.
Core values was when our team’s teamwork was put to the test.  They told us that we needed to get 5 ping-pong balls into a square on the floor, marked with blue masking tape, without any of us passing a line - about 3 feet away.  They said we had 5 minutes, some tape, and some newspaper.  The clock started.  We taped rolls of newspaper to each other and the ping-pong balls to another piece, and slid the newspaper with the balls on it into the square.  We made it just in time!
Technical judging was where a couple of judges came over to a practice board, and we showed them how our robot worked.  One of the judges pulled me and one of my friends over to see if we knew how to program an NXT.  This was the most simple part of the competition.
Then came presentation time.  We had prepared a presentation about a device that could help find people under rubble faster.  Back when we were learning it, I wrote the base of the script, and then as a team, we added to it.  It took a little while learning it, but after a while we got the hang of it.

We didn’t end up getting to go to States, (But the team in 10th place did!   A little devastating!) but I had a great time anyway.  I really enjoyed this year of Lego League!  Maybe you can find a team near you!

Elevate Music Band

Hey everyone!  Guess what I just got to join yesterday?

Pretty much, at Elevate, our worship pastor for the entire church would sing worship with his guitar.  He wanted to assemble a band of sorts so that us tweens and teens could worship together there.  So, he got a drummer, and singer, and - well, me, and assembled a band.  It felt really great being up on stage and playing the keys in worship to The Lord!

Bye guys!  God bless you!

The Weekend Before Last Weekend

It's probably time I post about this!  The weekend before last weekend, I got to go to my Babci and Pepe's house while my mom and dad were out to see the christian band Hillsong, and walk around in Boston to do some other fun stuff.  Anyway, at Babci and Pepe's, we played lots and lots of checkers, a game of Monopoly - well, I didn't play it, as I'm NOT a Monopoly person...

My Pepe had a cold though - but that didn't really matter - as me and my brothers also had colds.  My Babci ordered pizza for dinner, and in the morning she cooked an amazing breakfast of banana muffins (her famous recipe) and bacon.  For lunch we had left-over pizza and the left-over chicken wings from the night before.

I had a great time there!  And I can't wait to see them again in a week from now on Thanksgiving!  Have a great day everyone!  God bless you!

11-12-13

Hey!  Look at that!  The date!  It's 11-12-13!  Something like this won't happen next year at 12-13-14, but after that, it won't happen again for a long while.  I probably won't be alive then...

Anyway, make this day worth it!  Carpe Diem!  Seize the day!  God bless you!

Real Dog

Hey everyone!  Guess what my dog Nellie did today?  Well, lets start at the beginning of the story.  My mom looked outside at our van only to see a mouse running around in circles around the tire...So, me, my brothers, and Nellie, all ran downstairs shouting and barking, and opened the garage door.  Nellie could smell the mouse...you might guess what comes next.  Probably the funniest thing I have ever seen her do!  After some chasing, she pounced on the mouse and broke it's neck.  I could not have been prouder!  She then carried it - head held high - all around the yard while we were shouting, "Good girl Nellie!"

Well anyway, I had a really great day!  Hope you did too!  Bye everyone!  God bless you!

Just a few before I head to bed!  God bless you!  Have a good rest!
Hey everyone!  I have lots of things to catch up on here!  First, last Saturday (11-2-13), I went to see the best comedian in the world.  (My favorite anyway) Tim Hawkins.  Live!  It was in Worcester MA, and at First Assembly of God Church.

This is a very funny "custom" invitation he made.

Very custom indeed huh?  Very dramatic at the end though...hehe.  He's my favorite comedian for sure.  Here's his official website:  http://timhawkins.net/.

I also picked up seven new fish that look all sort of like...

Yeah, that's them, Black Tetras.  We'll see how long they all live.

Well, thats all for now!  I'll be posting more soon!  Vote in the polls!  5 more days to vote!  Have a great night everyone!  God bless you all!

Corn Maze

Just a couple of days ago, we went to the Beach Hill Farm Corn Maze.  My group went in to one maze and the nature trail.

The maze we went into was the "Farm-a-Rama" maze and the nature trail was - well, the only nature trail.  Check them out in the link above.  Here are some pictures!

We just got here, and are on a rock with all
of the other homeschoolers who came.

My brother's group in the Bruins maze.

My brother's group going into their second

Well, not many pictures but still, there are some.

Hello everyone!  I have a new poll today!  The question is, would you buy and iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch if it had Android?  (Never heard of Android?)

Last Cross-Country Meet

Last Saturday, it was time to finally finish the cross-country season and run in the final state - meet.  We got to the school at 9:30am, and my dad left and I got on the bus to go to the meet.  Once I got there, we saw and read our schedule again.  So it saves me time to not have to put the schedule up here,  I'll just say that I was pretty smack-dab in the middle of the races.  When it finally was time for me to go and start, it was about 2:00pm.  My time for the race was 14:20 and was my personal record.

Anyway, I had a great final meet and a great year for my first cross-country season.  Bye guys!  Have a great day!  God bless you!

Sunday, October 13, 2013

Hello all!  Yesterday I had a really big cross-country meet that was one of the last ones of the year...the "Tri-County Middle School League Cross Country Championship"...bit of a big name...  Anyway, the meet was really fun.  The races in order were:

"A" Race Girls:  Coaches pick the best girl runners on their team to go into the race.  We had five in the race.

"A" Race Boys:  Coaches pick the best boy runners on their team to go in the race.  We had none in the race.

"B" Race 5th and 6th Grade Girls:  Well, 5th and 6th grade girls...pretty self explanatory...

"B" Race 5th and 6th Grade Boys:  I was in this race along with - guess who?  If you guessed the 5th and 6th grade boys, then your right!  I placed 33rd out of 106 kids.  My time was 15:50.  My best time was 15:19, but my time this was okay.

"B" Race 7th and 8th Grade Girls:  Again, convenient title...

"B" Race 7th and 8th Grade Boys:  ...title...

Well, overall I had a great time!  My final meet will be on Saturday!!!  God bless you!  Have a great day!

Tree Painting

Tree Poem By Joyce Kilmer:

I think that I shall never see
A poem as lovely as a tree.

A tree that looks at god all day,
And lifts her leafy arms to pray,

A tree that may in summer wear
A nest of robins in her hair.

Poems are made by fools like me,
But only god can make a tree.
Great poem huh?  I had a great time painting this picture this morning too!  We hung my (and my mom's) paintings on the windows to make them glow.  (That little dark square in the corner of the painting is the sticker with the poem on the back)

Well, have a great day!  God bless you!

I'm a little nervous!

Have a good... Night!  Good bless you!  (Posted using my Nook)

Website

I think It's pretty safe to say, Play The Keys is under construction!  You can still view it as normal for now, but not everything will look the exact same!  I'm going to be changing themes multiple times to experiment which ones fit the theme of my website!

Bye guys!  God bless you!

Cross-Country Meet

I'm pretty sure my schedule has been overwritten by the school year!  I've had a couple of cross-country meets, one of which was canceled, and the other one (today's) well, lets just say the other teams didn't show up.  One of the teams had said that our course was too dangerous...if they think our team's course is dangerous, then I'm sure theirs is lined with pillows so that if you fall, you won't get hurt...

My other meet this week was on Tuesday.  When we started, we went around a field.

We had only been running for about 30 seconds when someone stepped on the heel of my shoe.  Now, at that point that this happened,  I was praying.  I always thank God for being able to race, and then I pray for extra strength to finish the race.  I tend to do this at the beginning.  So, I was thinking,

"Lord, I thank you for letting me be here, and for letting me have fun do cross-country, and-"

Bump.

"Wait a sec...something doesn't feel right..."

I was right.  Something wasn't right.  I turned around to see my shoe, two feet away, and a bunch of kids from the other team dying laughing.  I was furious.  I turned around, grabbed my shoe, shoved it one my foot - untied - and started running.  I passed every single one of those mean kids.

When my mom heard about it, we laughed together.  I wonder what God was trying to teach me...probably patience and humility.  :-)

Hey guys!  Yes... my template is supposed to be white.  I am working on a website with my dad and I am porting my blog over onto it, and my website is white, so in that case if I join the two it would only make sense for the blog to be white too!  My website will be finished soon!

Have a good night!  God bless you!

Busy

I've been meaning to tell you, now that the school year has started, I am starting to be more busy - therefore, I am not going to be able to blog every single day.  I will however on certain events like today.  Today I am going to compete in cross-country called the sevens.  The sevens are seven people how get to start in front of the pack of every meet we do.  I hope to be in the sevens - everyone does at that.  But I think I might just have a chance!

Bye everyone!  God bless you!  Please check out the verse of the day!

Android 4.4 Codename

Every version of Android has had a codename.  All starting with the letter "C", then "D", "E", "F", "G" and so on.  The codenames so far, have been:  Cupcake, Donut, Eclair, Froyo, Gingerbread, Honeycomb, Ice Cream Sandwich and Jelly Bean. The next version of Android would start with a "K".  So far have Android 4.4 (or maybe 5.0) has been rumored to have the codename Key Lime Pie.  They were wrong...and sure, I was too.  The real codename (I just found out today) is going to be Android Kit-Kat.  Pretty funny right?  Kit-Kat.

All of the statues in front of the Google building
Take a look the preview video I saw today!

Funny right?  Well, I can't wait for android Kit-Kat!  God bless you!  Bye!

Nellie Mixed With a Steam Cleaner

When you mix Nellie and a steam cleaner, Nellie, (the shih tzu) follows the steam cleaner for a while, until it moves towards her.  When it moves towards her, she sits from a distance, and watches for awhile.  Then, it repeats.  Over, and over, and over again, she chases, and then sits...in other words, it looks kinda like this...

Yeah...that's kinda what it looks like.  But if you want even
a better picture, then here you go...

She was doing it better earlier...oh well...  Bye guys!  God bless you!

Camping 2013 (again)

For Labor Day weekend we got to go camping for the last time of the year at - wait a sec!  I don't want to have to type all of the story...and that's why I made a video!  (If you don't make the video fullscreen, the quality will be better)

My Brother's Birthday!

Well, I'm a bit late, but Happy Birthday bro!  He turned ten on the 25th, and he got some pretty awesome gifts too!  Well, to start, he got money from family and friends (who didn't go to the party I'm about to tell you about) and from Mom and Dad, he got a metal detector!  Exactly what he wanted!  We were outside for awhile metal detecting and then, it was breakfast time.  After that, it was almost time to go to his party.  We got dressed, and headed out!  His party was at Roller Kingdom, where we skated for a while, and then played laser tag!  He received amazing gift from his friends, and then we got to roller skate some more.  Around 5:00, (I think) it was time to head out!

I had another awesome day, and I hope my bro did too!  God bless you!

Ron Weasley

Hey guess what I just found out?  Rupert Grint's (Ron Weasley's) birthday is today!  I was browsing the Harry Potter Wiki and found this out!  Tomorrow is my brother's birthday.  Kinda funny though, don't you think?

Three Lake Days

Wow!  First day in three days, that we haven't gone to the lake!  Crazy right?  First, we went to Horace Lake with friends on Tuesday, then Clough Lake for our final bike adventures, (and we swam at the end) also with friends on Wednesday, then last but not least, we went to Lake Sunapee...(with friends of course!)

Probably some of our last lake days this year!  We are going to camp at a different lake this year, and we will swim there, but after that, it might just be!  My brother's birthday is on the 25th (two days from now) and he's turning ten.  Oh boy!
