This Week

So, this week.  Well, it was an extremely busy week that's for sure, but it was also a extremely fun week.  I will just put this in a nutshell, because If I didn't, this would be the longest post ever...I'll start on Wednesday.

We woke up Wednesday morning and packed for Co-op.  After we packed and ate, we headed out to Co-op.  Co-op was great, but we were really tired.  We drove home and got to be there for about an hour before we unpacked our Co-op stuff, and packed our Elevate (youth group) stuff.  We headed to Elevate.  After that, we headed back home.  By that time, it was bedtime.

Okay, here's Thursday.  We woke up early to pack our things for a whale watch.  We drove down to MA.  We waited for a bit, and then got onto the whale watch boat.  I'll tell you what, the whale watch was wonderful.  We saw four different kinds of whales.  We saw a minke whale, 4 humpback whales, a Mola Mola whale, and 3 fin whales!   The only thing was that the ride back to shore felt like forever.  When we finally got home, it was bedtime once again.

Friday.  We got up, packed stuff, ate, and headed out to our Lego Robotics coach's house.  He drove us along with the rest of our team to Lego First Place in Manchester NH.  We got to meet many people including the governor of Louisiana!  Pretty cool right?  Our team presented to them and showed them how our robotics team works.  After that, we were pretty tired.  So, as you might be guessing, we went home, tried to do some school, and then went to bed.

Now were on to Saturday.  We woke up.  We packed up.  We ate up.  Then, drove to MA once again for a 5K race going on in remembrance of a boy who died of disease.  We got to say hi to his parents, and meet up with my aunt, uncle, and cousin.  My aunt, uncle, and cousin walked the 5K, and my mom, dad, brothers and I all ran it.  My time was 27:35, which wasn't a personal record, but was still pretty good considering how difficult the course was.  Luckily though, I still came in 2nd for my age group.

Man, that was a pretty busy week!  But like I said earlier, it was also a pretty fun week!  Thanks for viewing!

Amped Camp Paper

Amped Camp

Every year, my church hosts a middle-school camp, called Amped Camp.  We go to a youth camp, have fun, and learn about God, all at the same time!  For the two years that I have gone to Amped, it has been my favorite part of summer.  This year, it was held at a camp called Monadnock Bible Conference.  This camp is about 5 minutes away from Mt. Monadnock, as you’d expect from the name.  The ride to get to camp was about one hour, and compared to the year before (that was a five to six hour drive), it felt like nothing.  Funnily enough, the ride to camp was only my 7th time on a school bus.

We got to have a lot of fun at Amped! Swimming, tubing, a mud pit, climbing Mt. Monadnock, and even sliding down the longest slip and slide you’ve ever seen were all things that we got to do.  The first step that we took when we got there, though, was to unpack all of our luggage into our cabins.  After we had arranged beds, set up our sleeping bags, and put our suitcases next to our beds, we headed out to meet everyone at the camp flagpole.  There, our leaders, Mr. Calvin and Mr. Andy, made sure that we knew where everything in the camp was.  Once we knew where everything was located, it was dinner time.  Dinner was tasty.  After dinner and a group activity, it was time for our evening chapel session by the campfire, then bedtime.  The next day was when the real fun began.

I can’t quite remember which days all of these events happened, but I tell you about some of the best parts of Amped.  Since I play in the band at our youth group, I got to play at Amped, too.  For every chapel session (except the first one), I got to play the keys (get it?) with the rest of the band, for worship!  I had such a great time just doing that, that it was one of my favorite parts of Amped!  Another extremely fun activity that we did was tubing.  I went on the tube not once, but two times with one of my friends.  Once going forwards, and once going backwards.  Something else that I played was paintball.  I had a fun time with that, even though only 7 people showed up to do it.  We had uneven teams, but yet we still had a good time.  We all also did the mud pit, which many of the girls had been dreading.  The mud pit was when we jumped into the biggest and nastiest mud pit you’ve ever seen, and played lots of fun mud games.  We played games like Tug-of-War and Crawl on all Fours, through the mud, and got ourselves covered with mud!  The slip and slide was also fun, but many kids got hurt from flying over the end and hitting the hard gravel ground.  That part of Amped ended quickly…  Luckily a day later, they added another slip and slide session, but this time with the bottom filled with water, so nobody flew out of it.  Now that was a lot of fun!

Now, for my very favorite part of Amped!  In my opinion, the best part of Amped was the “Counselor Hunt.”  We all went out at about 9:00 at night and got to search for all of the counselors!  I wanted to find (not the Andy who I mentioned before, but a different one who leads the band I played in) Mr. Andy, but he was a great hider.  In fact, nobody ended up finding him!  At the end of the hunt, he came out of an unused sewer tank!  He was the last one to be found!  The good thing though, was that my partner and I found Mr. Calvin, which is the one other person I really wanted to get.  The reason why?  Well, he actually runs the entire Middle-School Elevate!  (Plus, he’s awesome…)  We found him laying down by the Gaga Ball pit.  In daylight, that would have been a bad hiding spot.  But in the dark, it was extremely hard to see him!  I really loved the Counselor Hunt!  Best game of hide and seek ever!

By far, Amped Camp was easily the best part of my summer.  I liked Amped more the all of the camping trips, lake days, stay at home days, and even amusement park trips this summer!  Overall, I had a blast at Amped, and I really can’t wait for next year’s camp already!

So...

So, first day of school.  I am a little bit late to post about it, but I am posting it anyway!

So, basically, we woke up at 7:30, those who wanted to go on our new exercise routine did, and then we got started on school.  We did our normal things from last year along with some new subjects like Chemistry and Physics.  We got a break at 10:30, then at about 11:00, it was time to get back to work.  12:00 was lunch, and then at 1:00 we started finishing up our things.  After we had checked off ALL of the things in our planner, we had finished.  At 3:00, it was time for our annual first day of school ice cream!

We went to a local ice cream stand with a few friends and just well, ate ice cream.  Overall, I had a great first day of school!  I'm excited for the coming days!

P.S.  Go to www.apple.com!  Go see what's new!
