When we got there, we were handed a sample of syrup. It was warm, gooey, and yummy! We then bought some syrup drops and the actual syrup.
It was now time to ride the cow train. A man was on a four-wheeler, pulling a long train of - cows...fake cows of course but cows. There we four, so my brothers and my mom went in with me. It was fun!
We then headed to Pat's Peak to watch the pond skim. The pond skim is a yearly event where people ski down a hill that has a pool at the end. If the people ski down at the right speed, they'll skim right over the pool and won't get wet! As for most others, they end up getting wet.
Thank you for reading my blog! Bye!
That's awesome! I don't get to play videogames right when i wake up :( Did you know that we make our own syrup too? Well, we have 4 trees (one tree didn't work) that we tap, and the maple sap flows out into little buckets. Then we pour it into a little evaporator made of cinder blocks we have, boil it for a day until it is 217 F and then take it inside. Inside we boil it fully until it is 219 F and drain it in cheesecloth into a measuring cup. We pour that into quart-size Ball jars (that we sterilized first) and let them sit. And there we have it! Syrup from our very own backyard! It's good too :)
